Details: This great product from Bilt Hamber is a high quality rust killer. Unlike some products on the market today that offer short lived results (hiding rather than curing the problem) this high strength barrier system kills the rust and stops it from coming back and, once painted, protects previously rusted surfaces from blister break outs. Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 employs a electrochemical function, stabilising existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex. It also combines with surface moisture and oxygen depriving the corrosion process of the conditions it requires. In laymen terms, the rust is de-oxygenised and the corrosive element of the rust is neutralised forming a stable solid mass on which to prime and work with. Once this high powered rust killer is applied and left to dry it forms a non-rubbery barrier surface ready for the base of paint layers and waxes, ensuring you get a great paint finish on any repair work you carry out. Importantly for long-term protection Hydrate 80 doesn't contain chlorine which is known to transform into corrosive hydrochloric acid in rust converter applications causing under-film blistering and destruction of paint finishes or other coating products.
